Sweet Dreams Concept Art
Conceptual art for a small game project titled "Sweet Dreams" This game was programmed by myself and another classmate as a final project to our Game Design class at Carleton University. This game was to be a side scroller "beat-em-up" following a dog named "Ghosty". Ghosty is the recently deceased dog of a young boy and her mission was to enter the dreams of her owner and destroy all the nightmares he was experiencing. Sweet dreams was programmed in Processing. Due to time constraints, final art was never developed for the game; however, concept art and background art was still conceived for the pitch and final deliverable. The first three images focus on the main enemies found in the level which we called "Terrors" along with the white dog, Ghosty. The fourth image was the main boss (as well called it "The nightmare" ) of the level, "The creature under the bed" to which the whole level was designed around After that there is the background images of the first level, from the spawn point to the final boss. The background was meant to suggest a transition from the space underneath a childs' bed to a creepy, unsettling forest.
